Originaires de Dresde et fondés en 2010 par Florian Hohmann, Luisa Mühl et Martin Zerrenner, The Roaring 420s, ont rapidement acquis une renommée internationale sur la scène psychédélique. Mélangeant avec finesse, et dans des compositions originales, le garage 60’s, le freakbeat, le surf ou la pop bubble gum, The Roaring 420’s reviennent aujourd’hui avec un troisième album excitant, parsemé d’harmonies vocales et parfois de sitar. Avec le krautrock national dans le rétroviseur, les musiques orientales ou le folk anglais en toile de fond on retrouve dans ce nouvel opus, enregistré avec le line-up original, tous les ingrédients colorés qui ont fait le succès du groupe.

Groupe de scène réputé, The Roaring 420’s ont beaucoup tourné en Europe, aux États-Unis et en Israël, partageant la scène avec des groupes comme Blank Tapes, Night Beats et White Fence. Leur premier album « What is Psych ? » est sorti sur le label Stoned Karma Records en 2014 et a enchanté les critiques et les fans. The Roaring 420’s ont ensuite fondé leur propre label It’s a Gas ! Records avec lequel ils ont sorti leur deuxième album « You Can’t Get Out Alive » en 2015, produit par Jorge Muñoz-Cobo Gonzalez (Holly Golightly, Boogarins, Golden Animals, etc.), parsemé de plusieurs collaborations, singles et contributions à des compilations sur Levitation Records, Melotron Recordings ou Celluloid Gurus. Leur musique a également été utilisée dans les campagnes publicitaires de GUCCI (feat. Lee Jung-jae), Specialized et New Yorker.
Le Pop Club se joint aujourd’hui au label allemand It’s a Gas Records pour sortir ce nouvel album.

Hailing from Germany, Roaring 420s play a wild mix of psychedelia and surf music, with nods to Krautrock, folk and oriental music. These ingredients can be found on their new album, recorded with the band’s original line-up. They are a well-known live band who have toured extensively in Europe, the United States and Israel, sharing the stage with the likes of Blank Tapes, Night Beats and White Fence.
Founded in 2010 by Florian Hohmann, Luisa Mühl and Martin Zerrenner, The Roaring 420s from Dresden, soon garnered an international following in the psychedelic scene. Their blend of various influences from the 60s is ranging from garage rock’n‘roll, bubble gum pop and surf to freakbeat and psychedelia, often topped off with a layer of vocal harmonies and sometimes a sitar. Far Out Magazine (UK) described it as “a wholesome and hedonistic twist merging the normally culturally constipated psych purists into fun loving party machines. »
Their debut LP « What is Psych?“ has been released on Stoned Karma Records in 2014 and has delighted critics and fans alike. The Roaring 420s went on to found their own label It’s a Gas! Records and released their second album « You Can’t Get Out Alive“ in 2015 which was produced by Jorge Muñoz-Cobo Gonzalez (Holly Golightly, Boogarins, Golden Animals etc.) Additionally, they have put out singles, split EPs and contributed to compilations on Levitation Records, Melotron Recordings and Celluloid Gurus (among others). Their music was also featured in commercial campaigns such as for GUCCI (feat. Lee Jung-jae), Specialized and New Yorker.
Le Pop Club is now joining forces with German label It’s a Gas Records to release this new album.
