In the old world, Jean Yanne sang, “rouvrez les maisons!”, it must be said that France is proud of its high places of perdition that were the One two two or the Chabanais. The sounds of this sexy, easy, funky anthology, under dazzling groovy organs, remind us of the sixties and the seventies and this period of ” Paradis Perdus ” or rather the image that one makes of it. The post post-modern revival allows us to recreate game zones as we wish, keeping only the good moments from the past and forgetting the rest.

This is one of the objectives of this amazing pop LP to accompany our nightly celebrations, with a special mention for André Hossein’s Jerk, father of the famous Robert, but the brilliant anthology that is offered here does not stop at this title. We discover that Albert Raisner was not only the boy scout with the harmonica in the days of his friends, but also knew how to set the dance floor on fire when he wanted to. What a joy to find David Whitaker, subject to his Francophile majesty, to whom we owe magnificent arrangements for France Gall. He was sampled by The Verve (Bittersweet Symphony), then rediscovered by Bertrand Burgalat.

We feel like Marty in his Dolorean from “Back to the Future” when listening to famous bands such as the Bourgeois de Calais and their “Talking about my girl”, worthy representative of the anglophile French trend which also gave us the movie “Ne nous fâchons pas” and its explosive mods. While at the time the French mods of the Drugstore would have rejected this Carnaby sur Seine, today it is precisely this Anglophile vision via the French prism that fans love so much. Some will say that “it was better before”, but nonsense! The passing of time, the information highways and technological progress allow us to keep only the substance of an enchanted and reinvented world. Here everything is groovy, Farfisa, Hammond, Leslie, petulant brass, and fuzz guitars. Luxury, frenzy and voluptuousness. If you are in a bad mood and the isolation of your home office is weighing you down, don’t wait any longer! Make your apartments the hippest place in your area. And if your neighbors call the police, don’t panic! The groove released on these sensual beaches will take it all away! Even those who are not so happy about it!
