Apple Records – CORE 2001
Live Peace in Toronto 1969 is a live album by the Plastic Ono Band, released December 12, 1969, on Apple Records. It was recorded on 13 September 1969 at the Toronto Rock and Roll Revival festival, held at Varsity Stadium, University of Toronto, Canada. The performance set comprised 8 tracks, combining rock & roll classics, Beatle‑era songs, John Lennon solo songs, and Yoko Ono’s more avant‑garde pieces. The band was assembled on very short notice. Lennon accepted the invitation to perform only a day before, recruited Clapton, Voormann, and White, and did rehearsals on the plane. The festival was billed as a rock & roll revival, bringing together artists from the ’50s and ’60s, and had a large audience (approx. 20,000‑25,000).
